The Toowoomba region in southeast Queensland country was a flourishing wine producing area at the turn of the century but the industry declined soon after. However the region is undergoing a spectacular rebirth. Many micro boutique wineries are now scattered throughout the Darling Downs and larger commercial ventures are being established. These vineyards and wineries are once again producing nationally recognised wines.
